Behavioral Health Aide position Jump Start 4 Kids
Program
The Position: Under the supervision of the Program Director or designee, the BHA/MHW serves as site coordinator for mental health services. The BHA/MHW works in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary treatment team and on-site personnel to provide quality care to clients of the program. It is the primary function of the BHA/ MHW to assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of the client’s individual treatment/ behavior management plan component that addresses the client’s target behaviors that relate to improving school performance and peer, familial, and community relationships and in providing case management and linkage. Responsibility includes awareness of the overall client treatment/ behavior management plan, along with direct input into treatment planning, discharge planning, and aftercare.
Responsibilities: Assists as needed in the assessment, treatment planning, and implementation process and completes all required documentation. Establishes a therapeutic relationship with individual clients, Assists clients’ caregivers and site personnel in implementing behavioral program for targeted behaviors. Documents client’s response to treatment and communicates client’s progress in an accurate and timely manner. Completes a progress note for every service (short-term and behavioral in nature), following established charting standards. Facilitates short-term groups focusing on specific target behaviors. Attends and actively participates in group consultation at least one time weekly and more often, as indicated. Provides case management and linkage services and mental health support services per scope of practice guidelines. Serves as a community resource specialist to clients and facilitates involvement and participation with community/ service oriented organizations. Coordinates after-care/ continuing care program for clients and families. Quality and Accuracy. Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and compliance with the highest ethical standards promoted by WYS. Provides Evidenced-Based Quality Clinical Care. Completes all required clinical documentation in accordance with Agency policies and regulatory requirements. 95% accuracy required on 1st submission of paperwork. Adheres to Agency procedures for handling clinical emergencies. Consults with management on case management problems and staff performance problems.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s
degree (B.A/S.) in a mental health discipline or related
field (counseling, psychology, social work) or have a
minimum of two years experience in client-related
services in mental health. May substitute 30 semester
units in counseling, psychology, or social work for one
year of experience. Bilingual Spanish/English required.
