Where good
work changes lives, enhances community and improves
society. Western Youth Services (WYS), founded in
1972, is a community-based non-profit agency that
provides prevention and mental health treatment
services for troubled youth and their families.
WYS programs include children’s mental health clinics
in Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Mission Viejo,
Santa Ana, and San Juan Capistrano. WYS also provides services
in Family Resource Centers in Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton,
La Habra, Orange, Stanton, Westminster and Huntington Beach.
In addition, WYS provides counseling and crisis
intervention services for the Orangewood Children’s
Home, a facility that cares for abused and neglected
children. In public-private partnership with the
Orange County Health Care Agency and local School
Districts, WYS also provides services on-site in
public schools throughout the County. Examples of
our specialized program areas include parenting,
family life education, crisis intervention to children
in out-of-home placement and early childhood intervention.
WYS employs about 170 staff, including
psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, family
counselors, and support personnel. It also serves as
a training site for clinical interns. A volunteer Board of Directors comprised
of professionals from business, human services,
health care, and education governs the agency.
We recently began offering a one-hour Cherish Our
Children program and tour for people to see our
facilities first hand. Participants are not asked to
make financial contributions at this program. Our
services focus on the needs of the community and
this forum is intended to introduce people to who we
are and what we do. We would welcome your
participation and feedback. Please call
Lorry Leigh at (949)

Cherish Our Children program or to request additional
information about our services.
